Why use HomeXperts to rent your next home?
We will listen and understand your requirements and do all we can to help find your next home.
Know your budget
What’s your budget? You need to work out how much rent you can afford before you begin your property search. Remember to take into account the other bills you also have to pay including council tax, utilities, telecoms and insurance.
Find the right property
When you have decided on a budget, the area you would like and the type of property you require, it is advisable to register for property alerts on our website. By doing this we can contact you as soon as we become aware of something suitable coming onto our books.
Create a shortlist of properties and see as many as you can that fall within your requirements. Check what the available date is to make sure it fits in with your required move in date. If there are more than one of you looking for a tenancy try and view together to save time later.
Agreeing on a tenancy
Once you have found the property you wish to rent, terms of the tenancy will need to be agreed with the agent including the amount of rent payable, how much deposit is required and the date you wish to move in. You will also be required to put down a deposit and pay a fee to secure the property.
What you will need
References will need to be taken so expect credit, employment and previous landlord references to be asked for. Check your own credit history so you can deal with any mistakes and ask your employer and current landlord to respond to the reference requests quickly. You will also need to provide identification. You are responsible for your own contents insurance cover, which we can help you with if you require.
Maintenance issues get worse the longer you leave them so report them quickly via our on-line maintenance reporting section. Remember you will be responsible for taking care of the garden and small maintenance issues such as replacing light bulbs.
