Mapperley, Carlton and the neighbouring areas of Sneinton, Bakersfield, Gedling, Colwick and Netherfield form the northeastern suburbs of Nottingham. They lie within easy reach of the A1 and the M1 and are convenient for East Midlands Airport and Robin Hood Airport.
The centre of Nottingham is a lively shopping city, with vibrant nightlife. With a variety of museums and galleries, cinemas, theatres and music venues, it has entertainment to suit all tastes. Within an hour or so drive you will find the Peak District, Sherwood Forest and Rutland Water; closer to home are the Ice Arena, the National Watersports centre and a host of leisure and fitness centres. Given the variety and quality of coffee shops, pubs and restaurants in the area, you will never be short of things to do.
