Owner's opinions...
We moved to Thirlby because it is such a delightful village adjoining the North York Moors National Park with beautiful views and clean air. Thirlby's heart beats large with the friendliest, kind and helpful residents and many social activities for all age groups throughout the year. Whitestone Lodge has been the hub of many large family occasions spilling out from the spacious sitting room through the French windows into the generous garden full of year-long colour and texture ( which has taken us 30 years to lovingly create). The seating area and Japanese garden at the top of the plot provide stunning views of the Whitestone cliffs and provide a quiet haven to watch the many birds, butterflies and dragonflies that visit the garden. Walks and cycle rides abound in this area and the dales, moors and coast are within easy drive from the house.
